Ready To Get My Craft On

I feel like now that Averie is almost 10 weeks old and is on a schedule, I am ready to start crafting occasionally.  Things are definitely less crazy around here.  I am even about to start working on Saturdays again soon.  Anyways, I am not really sure which projects that I plan to do, but I am excited about it.

I did start a BIG project last summer and plan to finish it this summer.  I got the crazy idea to paint my bedroom furniture.  I actually can’t remember if it was my idea or Rebekah’s idea.  Either way, I am 100% sure she sent me a picture that I fell in love with.  So I can blame this on her, correct??  I started sanding my night stand like a crazy woman and never finished it.  I later found out that I had sanded it WAY too much, I only needed to rough it up a bit.  Oh well, since I am painting and not staining, that should not be an issue.  This is going to be a big project. Especially if I do all the pieces.  There is a headboard, 2 nightstands, a dresser, and an armoire.  That is a decision I still haven’t made.  I know I plan to do the dresser and 2 night stands since they will stay in my room, but right now the armoire is in Averie’s room and I would personally like to get rid of it.  I would also like to get rid of the head board.  I have never, ever liked this head board and have a “plan” to replace it.  I keep thinking that when I get rid of this set though, that I will get more money for it if I keep the pieces together.  That would also require making them all the same color.  I am not concerned with the headboard, but that will include the armoire.  More work for me.  I really am excited about this project though.

Another project in the future may include trying to make more space in a  tiny kitchen.  I have ideas.

Stay tuned about my painting furniture plans.  I bought the brushes tonight. I am serious about this.  I hope to get started next week.  Maybe I can get one piece done a week.  That’s a good goal, right??

Fathers Day

Happy Father’s Day Ian!  God has really blessed me to have Ian as a husband, to have Ian as a father to my babies.  I love him so much and he really is the best.  I hope someday Ty, Micah, and Averie know just how blessed they are too.

Here are the pictures I tried to take for Ian.  I wanted him to have updated pictures for his desk at work.  It was a horrible experience.  I will not do this again without someone’s help.  Or at least until Averie can sit up alone.  No one wanted to hold her.  She was the only one that was happy, probably because she was being held by her brother.  It worked out better to do individual pictures.

$16.00

I am really, really excited that it is time for yard sales again!  Have I mentioned how much I love going??  If anyone ever needs a buddy to go, I am volunteering!  I am not hard core like some people I know, but I do like to look around to see what I can find.  I usually try to have an idea of what I want to find at sales so I am not just buying a bunch of stuff that I won’t use.  Of course, that doesn’t mean that I won’t buy something that’s not on my list.  Some times I find those things, some times I don’t.  Like last year, I looked and looked for a  cozy coupe for the boys.  I found one or 2 but they were usually more than I wanted to pay.  I found one for $20 dollars on lsn, but by the time I emailed the lady, it was gone. Boo!  I was so excited when I went to my first neighborhood sale this year and I found one for $10!!! It looked almost brand new! A lot nicer than the $20 one I found last year.

This year I will be looking for an umbrella stroller .  One that does NOT have Winnie the Pooh on it! I found 2 this weekend, both had pooh bear on it.  I was bummed!

I will also be looking for picture frames for the boys room, larger clothes for all the kids, toys, and books. Not really any big items this year.

I found some really good deals on Saturday.  This is what I bought:

052053054056057058059060

Most of this was 50 cents each.  Books were 25 cents each.  I also bought a pair of ralph lauren jeans, childrens place khaki pants, and childrens place cargo shorts all for the boys.   Most of the girls clothes  were Old Navy and Childrens Place.  All were in very good condition.  All for $16 dollars.  I was very excited! I knew that Averie’s wardrobe started tapering off at 9 months, so I planned to look for 12 month clothes.  I know that may seem crazy to some of you to buy that much in advance, but if you have kids, you know that they grow in to those big sizes way too fast!  I think Ian was just glad I didn’t come home with toys!
