Christmas 2011…Part 1

We have had a wonderful Christmas this year.  Spending time away from home with family was a nice break.  It was SO nice to see family!  It was especially nice to “cuddle” baby Isaac.  Cuddling him isn’t easy. It consists of me trying to hold on to him while he turns really fast watching people around him.  He can’t miss a thing!  He is such a sweet baby though.  We spent most of our time talking like goofy crazies just to make him smile, which is really easy to do!  The boys enjoyed gift opening this year which made things so much more fun.  We all got some very lovely gifts!  Now to just find a place at home for everything!

Getting Ready For Baby 3

I am starting to get pretty excited about this new baby.  She has some clothes now so maybe that makes it more real.  Her Aunt Rebekah has given her several things, a client of mine gave us several things and I bought  a few things today.  She now has some super cute stuff!!  After the first of the year I plan to start working on her room and a few projects that I have in mind for her.   I can’t wait!!

I have been looking for baby bedding.  It’s a hard decision!  With the boys I had not planned to use anything but colors, no prints, no animals.  Just colors.  We ended up with turtles.  I loved them when I found them.  They are super cutesy but the boys I really don’t care.  I think 2 days ago was the first time either of them acknowledged that they were turtles.  Okay, so that information wasn’t even important.   But I want cute stuff for this baby too.  No animals this time.  I found one I really like but it’s blue.  I was hoping to go with pink.   This is so hard!  Also trying to decide whether to buy something or make it.  I guess it depends on what I can find.  I will try to keep you updated on it all!

Tis The Season To Be Jolly…

It’s December 15th and I am not finished with my Christmas shopping yet.  I know this isn’t the first year this has happened, we always have a last minute gift to get or last minute stocking stuffers, but this year I am WAY behind.  It’s driving me crazy!  I am SO incredibly busy and just can’t seem to find time to squeeze shopping in.  I could do it during the day, but with doctors orders that I shouldn’t be doing much or doing any heavy lifting,  that’s out of the question.  I would have to take the boys and that would be more trouble than it’s worth.  They are usually pretty good when we go out but the lifting is a lot!

I am trying not to stress about this too much. It’s only one year.  Next year will be different and I will be back to my organized self.  I usually have most of my gifts bought and wrapped by December 1st.  Till then, I will just remember that I am doing this to protect this precious little baby.

I am just going to try to enjoy this holiday season.  It will be wonderful spending time with Ian, Ty, & Micah.

Sickness, Sickness, & More Sickness…

Wow has it been crazy here!  We have had so much sickness lately.  I feel like I have spent most of my time holding sick babies.  Not complaining about that at all, I love to hold them, but I haven’t had time to get anything else done.  Ty was sick about 2 weeks ago over Thanksgiving.  He had a high fever (104.7) and a cough.  He then took 10 days of antibiotics which ended on Friday and had a fever again by Sunday.  Micah got a fever on Sunday as well.  They both seem pretty congested so at least they have symptoms this time.  We are trying to get ready for Christmas but that doesn’t seem to be going over very well.  I am sure it will all come together eventually! I am looking forward to the weekend when Ian is home with me for moral support!

I hope to get back into blog mode as soon as this ends!  Don’t give up on me!

19 Weeks

It’s a GIRL!  We found out this week that we are having a sweet little girl.  We are BOTH very excited!  Now that morning sickness finally ended maybe I can start enjoying this pregnancy some.  I had a hard pregnancy last time because I was having twins so I am hoping this time will be easier!  She is measuring 6 days bigger than my due date that they have set, but right on schedule for what I had figured up for my due date.  They are wrong but since it isn’t off by 2 weeks they won’t or can’t change it.  Hopefully they won’t plan for me to have her at 40 weeks because that means it will really be 41 weeks. YIKES!  She is about 10 oz. and around 6 inches head to rump.   We dread picking out names because it’s going to be hard to agree on anything, a lot harder than having twin boys the first time!

Here is a picture of my growing belly that’s getting bigger by the minute!

Santa’s Workshop 2011

Well, we survived Santa’s Workshop this year.  We didn’t kill ourselves like last year either.  It was hard in a different way because I was pregnant but I definitely got more sleep.  It was long and exhausting but it’s something we enjoy doing together.  I should clarify, that’s me and Rebekah, not me and Ian.

We had a horrible spot last year but was very excited to see that we had a fantastic spot this year.  It definitely paid off, we did much better this year!

Hoe Down 2011

Our church has a hoe down every year.  We always love to go, even before we had kids.  We love that there is a chili contest and a dessert contest. I don’t always participate, but I love trying different kinds of chili.  This year my brother in law Sean joined us and of course Ty & Micah loved that.  They love their uncle Sean! This year they were too active to hang out with mom, especially when daddy and uncle Sean would play them.  It gave me a chance to catch up with friends though.

They also have a costume contest.  Ty dressed as buzz, Micah as woody.

Carving Pumpkins

I think I said a few posts ago how behind I was on blogs because my laptop has been broken.  This has to prove it! This is before Halloween.  We get together every year with our dear friends Beau and Shelly to carve pumpkins.  It’s tradition!  This year I did a more kid friendly theme since I have 2 boys that LOVE Elmo.

Visiting With The Family

We don’t get to see my brother and his family very much so I was excited to know they were coming to town!  I was sad however when Ty got sick a few days before and it looked like I was going to have to miss.  Rebekah was even coming with Dexter!  My wonderful husband decided to let me go and he stayed home with our babies.  I was sad they couldn’t join the fun but I was glad to be with both siblings again!

I was so happy to see baby Isaac too! He. Is. Precious. No others words can describe him.  He was so pleasant and happy the whole time! I love every opportunity to get to see my nephews:)

Thanksgiving 2011

It was so nice to get out of the house a bit and visit with family.  We had such a good time as usual.  I had doctors orders to take it easy all weekend so I actually felt pretty lazy! It was nice:)

The food was excellent, the fellowship wonderful!  It was nice to have Ian home for several days too.

At 11pm Rebekah and I ventured out into the crazy masses to do  some Black Friday shopping.  I have never seen such a line! It was insane!  For as crowded at it was the people didn’t seem too crazy though. I barely saw any running, I definitely didn’t see any pushing, and the only arguing I saw was when they were letting people in the store about 10 or so people around us tried to sneak into the line.  The girl behind us still handled it pretty well.  She told them it wasn’t fair that they just cut line after we had been standing for so long and they needed to go to the back of the line.  They ignored her of course.  She then threatened to make a scene and somehow they ended up leaving. I am not sure if it was because of her threats or because security pulled them out of line. I missed it because the line was moving the whole time and people were cutting a little in front of us so I had to watch that action too.  Don’t worry though. The lady in front of us told security and they pulled those people out also.   We got our few buys then headed for checkout.  The checkout line was like 45 minutes also.  Crazy!  It was fun though. I always enjoy going with Rebekah.  I was ready to be back home though! We left the house at almost 11 and got back home around 1:30am.  Not too bad!  I was ready to be back though.  Black Friday shopping and pregnancy didn’t go well together for me!  At least we didn’t go to Wal-mart!

Fall Is In The Air 2011

We had a great weekend in Maryville enjoying this fall weather.  It was nice to get away from home for a few days and to get to visit with family. The weather was lovely!

Bark in the Park 2011

Ian’s bank always has a booth set up at Bark in the Park every year.  They take pictures of the dogs and their owners.  We don’t have a dog, but we go to support Ian.  Actually, we go so the boys can see the dogs.  They think it is awesome.  I even picked up 2 cute puppies while I was there…

11 Weeks Celebration

I am 11 weeks today and we got to see our sweet baby.  It actually looked like a baby this time and not just a blob:)  It’s little arms and legs were moving every where.  We thought it would be a cute idea to take Ty and Micah with us for this ultrasound.  They did decently okay.  Micah kept saying ‘oooh, baby’ and doing this new fake laugh that he does.  It’s pretty cute:)  Ty was worried. He was pretty whiney during part of it because I was on the table.  He kept saying ‘help’ meaning he wanted to help me up.  So pitiful!  As soon as we were finished though and I was off the table, he was excited about the baby and kept talking about it.  Here are some pictures we received today.

8 Weeks 5 Days

I went to the doctor today for an ultrasound.  I was very pleased to see my sweet teeny tiny baby.  They said it has a good strong heartbeat, in the 180s. I am 8 weeks, 5 days. That means I am a full week behind what I thought.  I was a little disappointed in the information.  I’m disappointed because that means a whole week added to my sickness.  Other than that, I am okay with this information.  I do have to go back on my previous blogs and change the weeks.

7 Weeks.

I haven’t felt like doing much so far this pregnancy.  I can’t believe how sick I am this time.  I have 1 week to go till my first doctor visit.  It will be nice to finally go and hopefully find out if it’s only 1 baby.  I am sure it is!  Having twins before makes me very nervous though!  It will be nice to finally hear the heartbeat too.

We made a trip to Chattanooga this weekend to visit my sister and her family. It has been a nice get away from our house and cooking and cleaning.  It has been wonderful to have Ian home for a long weekend too!  I was very excited to buy a few pieces of maternity clothes. I’m not quite ready for them yet, but it will be nice to have more options when that time comes.  I can actually say that I am very excited to wear these few things I bought.

The baby this week is apparently the size of a kidney bean.  It’s growing its toes and fingers! It just amazes me every week to see how much it grows!  It is seriously amazing!  It’s amazing to know that God is forming this sweet little baby! It already has a heartbeat, a brain, and lungs are developing!  So wonderful!

5 Weeks

018copy It’s crazy that something this tiny can make you so sick.

It’s crazy to think that in just 34 weeks you be living with us.  So tiny and sweet and oh so loveable:)  I read the other day that at 6 weeks you should be the size of a lentil.  The week before that was a sesame seed so you are growing very fast!  So far this pregnancy has been so different than my last one. Last time I was sick from the moment I stepped out of bed to the moment I fell asleep, with the sickness getting worse as the day went on.  This time, as soon as I wake up I start feeling incredibly sick.  I get a break after lunch, then it comes back before dinner.  I have been so dizzy this time too.  That’s something new and weird for me.  My mornings have started off with Ty & Micah eating breakfast and watching a movie while I sit on the couch nibbling on something, trying to feel better.  I can tell you our house has not been pretty:)  I feel like every time someone comes over I am having to give an excuse for why there is such a mess, besides the real reason.  We have kept you a secret till now.  We planned to keep you a secret longer, but as sick as I have been we couldn’t hide it anymore.  People were going to be scared to be around me and wonder what they were going to catch! I already love you and can’t wait to find out if you are a boy or girl! I can’t wait to meet you!!  April 8th is when the doctor says you will be here and I look forward to it!

* that is a cooked lentil, bigger than an uncooked lentil.  I am sure uncooked is closer to the actual size.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ty & Micah!!!

We had such a good time celebrating the boys birthday this year. I was extremely excited to give them a party this year.  The theme was Elmo and Cookie Monster.  The main things I thought we needed were awesome cupcakes and balloon…lots of balloons!! I was right! The boys LOVED it!  We decorated while the boys were napping so they would be surprised when they woke up.  They were seriously so excited to see their cupcakes and all the balloons:)  Thanks Ian, Rebekah, & Sean for helping make it possible.  Sorry if I was a little too bossy:)

036057  Cookie Monster turned out fine….Elmo, not so much!  We had to add extra food dye to that icing and it made it extra thin.  Freezing it didn’t even help:(

066 Almost immediately after putting the face on Elmo the pieces started sliding around. I came through later and his nose and eye were laying on the counter top beside him:)

075133173Micah wouldn’t even eat his cupcake.  As you can see, Ty enjoyed his…at least the icing:)
