We Wish You A Merry Christmas….

We have had a wonderful Christmas.  Ty & Micah really enjoyed it this year.  Micah ended up being a real pro at opening gifts.  Ty usually couldn’t get past the first gift he opened:)  I just love their different personalities. We had a white Christmas, which was a real treat.  The boys were able to play out in the snow for their first time ever, it pretty much included eating snow and riding in the sled.  I think they really enjoyed it though:)

They got lots of great gifts and lots of yummy treats.  We all did!  I do have to say I am really excited to have some new clothes.  I am also excited about my new decore for my bedroom! It will be one of my many 2011 projects, I can’t wait to post pics.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I just love Christmas. Every year I get so excited to shop and wrap all the gifts.  This year I am REALLY excited!  Have babies here adds a whole new level of excitement.  Yeah, yeah, they were hear last year too, but they were only 4 months old. At that age they didn’t even care about the wrapping paper!

It has been interesting keeping them out of the tree.  Its funny though, they are not interested in any of the ornaments except the balls. They love balls!   We decided to make it easier on them though and just decorate the upper half of the tree.

Ian thankfully doesn’t have much input on the wrapping paper.  He usually lets me just pick what I want.  This year he does not like the paper though:) I LOVE it!!

My parents bought us this cute reindeer ornament with all our names on it.  The other ornament was one I got several years ago, I just thought it was cute this year because she has twin gingerbread babies:)

And I HAD to add this last picture. Micah decided to do a little tree decorating on his own:)  The boys actually have 2 ornaments they are allowed to move around on the tree or carry away and bring back…its buddy the elf and snoopy.  There is a perfect little nest from the branches that they found and usually just put their ornaments in it.  I was looking for Micah’s sippy cup and this is what I found. I just had to take pictures:)

Church Directory

I have been ‘working’ on the picture for the church directory.  By working on them I mean I took them.  I do need to touch up a few, a little light here and there, but for the most part there isn’t a lot of work to do to them.  I am not even sure if the pictures will be in color or black and white…maybe I should ask that question:)

Anyways, I just wanted to share the picture of me and my family!

Even though Micah doesn’t look happy on the bottom one, I think that is the one we will go with.

Crayon Stocking Stuffers

I love reading blogs. It is just something I love to do.  Most of all, I love getting new ideas from blogs that I love to read.  So, I found this awesome crayon blog.  It looked super cute! and super easy!  Micah has really been interested in drawing recently.  If I am making one of my many lists, he comes over and wants to use my pen.  So, when I saw that I could make big crayons for chubby little baby hands out of recycled crayons I thought it was perfect!!!!

First, I asked for crayons on facebook from anyone that was just throwing them away.  I know from being a child once, there are always little broken crayons that you just don’t use anymore. At some point moms just have to throw them out!! or makes new crayons out of them:)

They were actually pretty easy to make. The most time consuming part was separating the colors and brands and peeling the paper off.  The peeling the paper off was the worst.  I kept sticking sharp crayon paper under my nails and it really hurt.  I then (near the end) got out a knife and start cutting the paper off.  I only had to endure 2 or 3 knife pokes.  Let me tell you, 2 days later and the skin under my nails are still sore!  Anyways, you should separate brands.  It is supposed to make the crayons turn out better.

Heat water on the stove in a saucepan.  Use a clean, dry can to put your broken up pieces of crayon in. You won’t even imagine what I had to eat to get cans empty for this project….that’s a joke…we had soup for dinner.  2 cans of soup and 1 can of pineapples later and I was ready to go!

You just set the can in the saucepan that has water in it.  It melts pretty fast. I used a wooden skewer to stir, you can also you a dowel.  As soon as it melts, you just poor it in the the candy mold.  I bought my candy molds from Amazon for $2 each.  Don’t pick up the mold full of melted crayon till it sets up a little. If you don’t believe me come look at the blue crayon that is splattered around my stove!  Put it in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes, when it gets cold the crayons just pop right out! That’s it!

I plan to give these to Ty, Micah, & Dexter for Christmas in their stockings.  Cute, cute, cute!!

What am I thankful for??

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  We had lunch at my grandmothers house and then dinner at my aunts house.  Lots of yummy food!  There was much to be thankful for this year.  I am blessed!!

Now, I had to add these. Micah was being WAY too cute with my parents puppy. I have to admit, I was a little nervous for the puppy, but he didn’t seem too bothered by Micah. Maybe he was too scared to do anything to get away from Micah!!

This is the point where we decided it was best to distract Micah and let the dog have a rest!!

Santa’s Workshop 2

I haven’t blogged in so long! I feel like I am trying to catch up:) I did Santa’s Workshop a few weeks ago with my sister, Rebekah.  We worked for a few weeks trying to get enough things to stock our supply. We worked till we were exhausted!

I feel like we were both pleased with the results from the workshop.  It was our first time and we were in a TERRIBLE location!  Here are a some pics from our booth…..

I just didn’t realize how hard it would be…

to have family pictures taken with twin 1 year olds.  The pictures turned out great! Alissa from Center Point Photography did an awesome job.  Ty and Micah however…. They pretty much cried the whole hour or so that the photo session lasted.  They are sweet, sweet babies, but when that camera came out they wanted nothing to do with it.  I think it was mostly that we wanted to them to stand side by side and look happy for pictures.  They wanted to walk around, not beside each other.  Like I said, Alissa did a great job. Now I just have to decide what I want to hang on my walls and where to hang them. Oh and one of these will definitely be my Christmas card picture this year!
